Munich, April 17, 2019 – A practical and at the same time chic digital companion for nursing, ward rounds and in the OR: With the DT524 from DT Research, nurses, caregivers and physicians get a flexible all-in-one PC that can either be used stand-alone with a stand or installed on a ward round trolley using a standardized VESA mount. The all-in-one PC is designed for battery-powered business trolleys. The fanless and energy-efficient device resembles a large 24-inch tablet. The DT524’s hardware configuration can be customized for any specific need, including processor, monitor resolution, memory and power supply. The DT524 is available immediately from value added distributor Concept International.

Housing and interior: Designed to meet the extreme demands of everyday clinical use.

The 24″/60cm DT524 all-in-one PC is certified to EN 60601-1 and has a detergent-resistant, aluminum alloy back with antimicrobial coating. The housing has IPX2 certification. In addition, the front of the DT524 is waterproof and dustproof according to protection class IP65. Users can choose between Full HD or 4K resolution for the bright display (300 cd/m2). The DT524 has a 10 point touchscreen. Chips from the Intel Core-i family are used as the CPU. The working memory can be upgraded to up to 16 GB depending on the model, and the local memory can be expanded to up to 1 terabyte with the help of an SSD. Front camera, RFID reader for authentication, integrated UPS buffer battery and a stand are optional. In addition, the PC can be mounted on existing or commercially available VESA mounts. Particularly in the inpatient clinical environment, the DT524 enables upgrades to existing visit trolleys and supports a seamless digital workflow in healthcare.

As standard, the DT524 includes interfaces for Ethernet, WLAN and Bluetooth, four USB 3.0, two USB 2.0 and three COM ports. The device runs the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise operating system. Alternatively, Windows 7 can be installed. Weight without stand is eight kilograms, allowing medical staff to push the visit cart comfortably.

Sophisticated power supply provides uninterrupted juice

As far as the power supply is concerned, there is an optional internally installed buffer battery, which takes over in the event of a brief power failure or a change of socket. The all-in-one PC also has an adapted BIOS with intelligent shutdown in case of a power failure. As an alternative to the included power supply, there is the optional “ACC-001-36” triple battery pack from DT Research, which has three power outputs for the DT524 and other peripheral devices. This can also be used, for example, to supply power to printers and cardiological measuring devices.

DT Research, a U.S. manufacturer of rugged tablets and medical IT devices, has developed the DT524 for the inpatient clinical environment. The DT524 is suitable for use in meeting rooms, nurses’ stations, as well as departments such as sonography, endoscopy and surgery, or doctors’ offices and medical centers, up to and including the operating room.

Mike Finckh, Managing Director Concept International: “In the course of the digitalization of healthcare, doctors and nurses are looking forward to having a contemporary and easy-to-use panel PC. With the development of the DT524, DT Research has created a medically certified all-in-one that can be used equally anywhere from the OR to the treatment room to the point-of-care.”
