DT-Research 22- and 24-inchers digitize ward trolleys with self-sufficient power supply, helping to massively reduce costs and avoid errors in patient records

Munich, January 28, 2025 – Munich-based value-added distributor Concept International is launching two capacitive touch-enabled monitors designed specifically for the medical sector, the DT722 and 724 from DT Research. The two IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2 certified devices offer a choice of 22 or 24-inch screen diagonal with full HD resolution. Three powerful batteries that can be changed during operation are located in the compartments at the back of the device. These batteries supply the monitor with power and can also supply third-party devices such as thin clients, label printers or barcode scanners with power. The antimicrobial and wipe-clean chassis makes the DT72x series the perfect companion for round trolleys – especially where old but still functional round trolleys are to be modernized or electrified.

German hospitals are under massive cost pressure. Modernizing existing round trolleys is therefore often a real alternative to buying a new fleet. If electronic devices can cover several functions, this is a great added value. And that is exactly what the DT72x series of medical monitors from the American industry leader DT Research can do.

Medical certifications and robust housing protection

The series consists of two devices: one with a 22-inch display and one with a 24-inch screen. Both monitors feature capacitive touch capability and, with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, also allow detailed displays.

The DT72x series is certified according to the IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2 medical standards, which are important for hospitals and institutions. The housing of the screens has an antimicrobial coating and can be wiped clean. The latter is guaranteed by an IP65 certification for the display and an IPX2 certification for the chassis. These features make the DT72x series ideal for use in medical facilities.

Mobile power supply makes old ward trolleys fit for a second round

Another useful detail is the three batteries, each with a capacity of 90 Wh, that can be inserted at the back and changed while the system is running. This means that third-party devices such as existing thin clients, barcode scanners, label printers and vital data devices can be supplied with 12, 15 and 19 V voltage directly at the trolley and anywhere independently of the power supply via the DC output management of the two monitors.

With three batteries, the monitors weigh around nine kilograms.

Secure authentication and reading light for night-time documentation

Other features include integrated WiFi, numerous interfaces such as three USB 3.0, HDMI and USB-B input, as well as an optional front camera that enables secure user authentication, for example, and can be supplemented by an NFC reader. Another important and very useful feature is the integrated LED reading light on the lower edge of the screen, which enables nursing staff to open the right medicine box at night, for example, without having to switch on an annoying light source.

The medical monitors are attached to the cart using a standardized 100 x 100 mm VESA mount and are available immediately from Concept International for €1,490 net (DT722) and €1,590 net (DT724), each including three batteries.

Service for DT722 and DT724 from Concept International

The service for DT722 and DT724 from Concept International includes a three-year warranty, which can optionally be extended to five years. On request, the value-added distributor will also take over the roll-out of projects as part of its Total Preparation Services and offer project-specific configurations.
